Application

For a wide range of high frequencies and hot-spot temperature (up to Class F), C-Cores are used in a growing list of advanced power conditioning applications including: Transformers in SMPS (400 Hz-20 kHz), Transformers for inverters in welding equipment, wind turbines and Solar Panels, PFC correction chokes in UPS, High Power Ballasts, Output Filter Chokes in Large SMPS, UPS Harmonics Inductors, Frequency Converters, Automotive Powers, Railway Traction System, X-Ray Power Supplies, Chokes for Induction furnaces, etc.

Benefits

Low eddy current losses, Low Hysteresis Losses, High saturation flux density (1.56T) and robust design helps in fast assembling into pre-wound coils. High efficiency, Low temperature rise & Low Profile – enables weight and volume reductions of up to 50%. Flexible via individual air gaps. Up to 70% lower total losses than CRGO. Allows for operation at higher freq. at same flux level. Low I²R copper losses. Less magnetizing current. Small overall design due to low temp. rise. Wide operating temp. range = -55°C to +130°C Higher power throughput.
